Riverton, WY to Casper, WY 120 Miles!

"Home, home on the range. Where the deer and the antelope play."---Brewster M. Higley, early 1870s

I was interviewed this morning for the local Riverton newspaper about our bike ride. When I told the reporter we were headed 120 miles to Casper, her eyes got big and she said, "There's a whole lotta nuthin' " out there. I think she was right. Although we did see a couple of antelope playing.

Antelope playing. You have to look really, really close.

Although there was this lovely spot
very early in the day.

Our SAG for lunch was in Hiland.
We had to buy a sandwich yesterday to bring with us today.

With 40 of us there for lunch, we quadrupled the population.

The tiny store next to our SAG had this scary display
in a glass case.

It' Official.
Judy, one of our ABB leaders said we could see it from here.

120 miles. A new record for me. I broke the day into milestones: 1st SAG, 2nd SAG, 3rd SAG, the town of Mills, then to the motel. It was good to take one little block at a time. The temperature hit 90 degrees as the day progressed. Hot. Hot. Hot. I started fantasizing about an icy cold Sprite near the end. It sounded so refreshing. We stopped at a convenience store in the town of Mills just five miles from Casper, and then I could go on. We made it.

Day off tomorrow in Casper, Wyoming.
